peter lee

i've been a fan of cinema, especially movies that are dark and moody. that has a big influence on how i approach my photos. i really started getting into photography about four years ago. that was when i moved to guangzhou, china from los angeles, california. being in a completely foreign surrounding gave me the urge to wander, and wherever i went i carried a camera with me. one thing i find interesting about asia is that it's alive, even more so when night falls. with that thought my photos became more night oriented and i developed a way that i see colors and light. i like to think of pictures as a time machine, a way to capture and review the past and evoke emotions and feelings.

sagar shiriskar

the first camera i ever picked up was my father’s old yashica which had been lying neglected in a cupboard in our house for years. the beauty of seeing the world through a viewfinder, even though the camera lacked a film roll, was an exciting experience through my childhood. since then it has evolved into a love of storytelling through photography. it is fascinating to note the interaction of a person with the space around him and the elements that make up this space. sometimes these come together to result in an image that is poetically beautiful. the camera is simply a tool that brings out that poetry.
