issue eight: tight-lipped.
august, twenty thirteen.

so tight… just so, so tight, when i slip my eyes over what we got for you in powder all i can think is it’s all so very tight…

it’s the tight-lipped issue and i have to say a lot of my visitors always leave the powder studio with this on their lips, ‘now that i.t.a., now that’s a tight one, very tight-lipped.’ little old me, i just laugh it off with a flick of my hair.

it touches me deep… so very, very deep that you’re back to check this issue and were talking lips hey… well just between me and you the lips on that sassy woman in the cover shot by shirren lim are oh so my on that cigar.

see i’m a sucker for a photograph that features a cigarette between some lips and if you’re like me then peter lim’s gallery, guangzhou, will set you ablaze. if you want another cig shot well why don’t you peruse eye contact, shots of naomi wilson by fashion photographer lee nutter, always a treat.

but you have to keep shtum sometimes, like in the case of the dark web where all matter of things be lurking. that’s why i spoke to eileen ormsby of all things vice to get the low down.

so we’ve some outrageous art in powder. russell king, oh my what classically stunning signs he’s been hanging round the streets of new york; he gave me the scoop on the urban art scene in the big apple.

deb, delectable deb, graced powder with her bold and vibrant works and even gave me some of her time to let us know what it’s like creating in her world.

wordsmith gina tron lays down some tales that touch the dark side of the classroom while delgado produces a deluge of poetry that evoke the mythological.

the finalists of the international reggae competition have been announced and might i say they are so fine. maria papaefstathiou chats with the winner, balazs pakozdi.

donné restom in the big reveal certainly shows you how to kick around an adjective while louise carter is back with a misty piece compulsion.

we feature some of the book covers from the recovering the classics project which is reinvigorating some of the greatest works of literature. and speaking of literature nimmy joshi is back with diary of an amnesiac.

there’s more fashion with what’s hot in cape town by cinder and skylark, the hauntingly stylish shots of argentian based photographer lionat while sagar shiriskar takes a look at who the fashion hangs on in mannequin.

oh yeah and vinny bangs on about some drugged up new years he had while paulina can’t stay tight-lipped whatsoever.

speaking of tight-lipped though i feel… i really feel that that’s how you’ve been acting towards me. i’ve noticed that in between the articles you keep glancing back at me, with those piercing eyes and well i guess they speak volumes and there’s no need for you to express it in words. so honey why don’t you come over here when you’ve finished reading powder and give me a little hey.

peaches,
