issue six: bent.
may, twenty thirteen.

it’s the bent issue here at powder and well we be definitely bent right out of shape.

and oh my gosh… just what is bent? well it’s your mother in army boots, that big, sweaty border crossing guard with his palm upturned to the side waiting for you to slip him some dollars, it’s tucking it up and under just before you slide on those pink satin knickers that smelt so good when you fished them out of the basket, washing those pills down with brandy in order to get completely bent and if you don’t like my behaviour honey well you can go and ‘get bent’.

if you want to learn a little more cutie then you should check out what nanjira sambuli has to say on things bent.

oh my buddha, i had to lift my jaw back off of the floor after i spoke with the queen of kings cross, carlotta. she’s the inspiration for priscilla and well didn’t she just have oodles to say.

you don’t get more bent and esoteric than the imagery of hard line character artist, SMC[3], whose new exhibition is incidentally on at the mo in sydney… go have a look gorgeous.

bent images, mosaics of flickering colours… all mesmerising, all wonderment, well that’s what you get if look upon the digital imagery of charis tsevis and it gets completely kaleidoscopic when you take in the photography of sagar shiriskar.

dr carolyn cooper, writer and ted lecturer, had a chat with me that was thoroughly stimulating; we touch on jamacian independence, feminism and the new book she’s just edited globlal reggae. talking about having a bent for inspiring conversation travel writer and photographer, lola akinmade, definitely has one.

stunning, hot… hot and stunning and it’s in powder. sydney based fashion photographer lee nutter takes us down to the beach and delivers some photos of model sylph sia at high tide. if you’re after a little more titillation then peruse the prose of nimmy joshi.

oh my i’m feeling all a-flush every time i spy upon the oh so sensual fashion inspired paintings of texan based, dawn okoro, and see what she has to say to little old me when we have a bit of a natter.

a horn is bent and so to it seems is kitty clementine, the sultry chanteuse with the bluesy voice like the streets of new orleans. really, really, really, twas a pleasure to have her speak with powder, she has such a way with words and can spin a tale like a spider’s web.

just a little more style… mmm hmm, yes i can here you ask. well, here you go, check out what’s chic on the streets of malaysia and singapore with garbagelapsap.

delgado relates a tale of betrayal and lust. pablo the nihilistia has some dark words; while vinny decides to take us into his bedroom for dress ups? oh and that wretched paulina noir is yet again saying totally disturbing things to our readers.

hmm and what about you kitten. hey, i missed you… oh how i’ve been longing for you here at powder. how’d you get to be so beautiful hey? how’d you get to be so sweet and gooey like bubble gum? let’s lay down together in the thick plush carpet before the fire and flick through the pages of powder together… just you and me, pretty pretty.

peaches,
