enough of that... it's time

Kawaii… who needs that? I say, to hell with it. Fuck that shit. Fuck Hello Kitty, Pikachu, Sailor Moon, Geishas, the fake giggles and all that comes with it. At the end of the day, what is the point of being something we are not?

Who wants to be precious, perfect, scarless, intact? Unless you are Gollum’s ring, that’s unacceptable; very un-kawaii, like I must say. The thing is, we are humans, not objects. From the beginning of time, we are meant to fail, get up, make mistakes, hopefully learn from them and move on. We’ve seen it happen time and time again all throughout history. We are made of flesh and bone, not plastic. We are adaptable, changeable, we evolve through time, nothing is static in the human world and Kawaii culture is everything but that. It’s static, fake, perfect. It’s the opposite of our essence. The question is: why is it taking such a big turn in our society? Why is it so popular? Why all this fuss to move against nature and its evolutionary plans of history being cyclic and repetitive?

I know this has been going on for a while now, but it is time for us to make a stand and stop this. It’s all around us. Whatever people’s motives and circumstances, they want to look good, at any price; even if it means losing their identity. Nothing matters more than looking good. In fact, the more we are not ourselves the better, and that’s what’s wrong with it. One thing is bettering all aspects of our lives, another is changing it to live by society’s or someone else’s standard. And that’s what I have a problem with.

We have been given free will and discernment, so let’s use it for what matters most: being true to ourselves. Regardless of any trend or fashion that is going around.

I still have hope. It is time.
