on things bent

Bent.

Imperfect.

Corrupt.

But what is a word beyond the meaning YOU assign it? Not everyone else, you? You, on whom it may be used.

Bent.

Not straight.

Malleable.

Bent. The state of ‘grey’, in a world that wants things defined as black or white. That state of in-between , in life’s never ending tug of war, from one extreme to the next.

Bent.

Messed.

Imperfection.

Bent, but not broken.

‘It is good to follow one's own bent, so long as it leads upward.’ Andre Gide.

Bent.

Unconventional.

Rebellion.

Independence.

For whoever changed the world, or left their mark by always playing by the rules, by being ‘straight’ as an arrow?

Bent.

Determined.

Hellbent.

Beauty and the Bent.

Beauty is everywhere, even in the ‘bent’. So embrace the state of ‘bent’ whenever you cross paths with it, temporary or infinite.

As the tree is bent, so it will grow. It won’t be any less of a tree, unless you assume it is so.

Embrace the bent!
