thoughts eliot ross albers eliot ross albers, phd, has been an activist for the human rights and health of people who use, and especially inject drugs, for fifteen years. he is executive director of the international network of people who use drugs; which is recognised by the relevant un bodies, and drug user activists the world over, as the peak network representing the interests of the community on the global stage. the principal work of the network is advocacy at the international level and capacity building at the national level. eric boelts eric loves posters – especially creating them. after getting a bfa and a mba, both from the university of arizona, eric spent some time teaching in arizona and colorado while running several design businesses. his current venture, brain bolts, llc, affords him the opportunity to create all facets of design and advertising, from logos to brochures, and interactive projects to posters for a variety of industries including technology, aviation, healthcare, and the arts. eric currently resides in boulder, colorado. antonio castro antonio is an associate professor of graphic design at the university of texas at el paso. he received his bfa in graphic design at the university of texas and a mfa in visual communications at tyler school of art in philadelphia. castro has been producing successful design solutions for companies such as bravo networks, independent film channel, american movie classics among others. prior to this castro worked as a fraphic designer for mithoff-burton partners and later as a senior designer/art director at parham santana in nyc. jon dean currently living in atlanta, georgia, jon prefers shooting staged portraiture. he received a bachelor of fine arts in photography from the savannah college of art and design, with a minor in cinema studies. his love of film and melodrama have always been the driving force of his image making. erin wright erin wright earned his master of fine arts with a concentration in graphic design and illustration at the university of arizona and his bfa in graphic design at colorado state university. he has taught design at lsu, the university of montevallo, and is currently a professor of design and former chair of the department of art and art history at the university of alabama at birmingham. visuals erin forsyth born and raised in auckland, new zealand, erin forsyth is a believer in louie joyce louie joyce is an illustrator and artist based in sydney, australia. as a lifelong fan of comics and animation, his work focuses on different techniques of graphic storytelling. ali kianmehr ali kianmehr, a calligrapher and graphic designer— educated in graphic design— doing "iranian calligraphy" for more than twenty years. he works on designing and painting calligraphy on large canvases in his studio in iran. he teaches "calligraphy-painting" methods and techniques in the art and culture centre of teheran university. konsumterra konsumterra came from adelaide to sydney about seven years ago and has since been working with street art as a teacher, tour guide, live artist for events, curated dozens of shows, published a graffiti newspaper, put on several festivals and been a consultant with government and councils. most recently he did a colouring book and game graphics for old school pen and paper gamer stuff. his older work was political and often a parody of consumer culture but nowadays he’s mellowed out and is less interested in shock. mostly he draws whatever strange things children tell him to do only with octopi. posters without borders posters without borders is an international poster exhibition founded and curated by eric boelts, antonio castro and erin wright. it’s an invitational exhibition with people from all around the world having submitted to the project. the project explores the issue of immigration;
